We’re now just under five years from the date that has spawned many web sites, including this one. Many who say 2012 is just another Y2k hype don’t quite understand the differences. Y2k was an event that was to happen at the stroke of midnight- an exact minute. The 2012 date will either prove itself as a real deal by what happens over the next five years or it won’t. We don’t have to wait until the clock strikes 11:11pm on December 21, 2012.
There also isn’t anything to buy to get ready. You don’t have to move to the mountains or buy gold coins. There are just seven simple steps to follow if anything at all.
So, as we close out the year 2007, we can see a lot of strang things that have happened in the climates around the world. Weather has been more than weird. But, is that a result of some catastrophic event(s) that might befall us in 2012? Or, is it the result of global warming- if there is such a thing. I’m still riding the fence in that regard though my “lean” seems to be tilting to global warming as a serious problem.
What I do know for surfe is that our civilization is on an increasing acceleration to somewhere. The amount of knowledge that we’re becoming open to is exponentially wearing us out. The technology is bringing us a connectivity that boggles the mind. Did I mention that our ability to kill each other in multiple and more expansive ways is increasing also?

If nothing happens from without (can you say universe?), stull is happening from within and on this planet that is forcing lifestyle changes on us beyond our ability to comprehend- or cope! Well if on dec 12 2012 the planets align and changes the earths magnetic poles, we will live or we will die, for sure we will die sooner or later. Yes, above all keep the faith. Jesus said no one will know the exact time of the end of the world. The ancient calendars of the Chinese and the Mayans probably ended because they needed to change it like we did to our calendar, which we had to do to keep our dates going or, ours would have stopped too at a certain date. I do venture to say that maybe they do have the end of the world date of December 21, 2012, in closing, I am sceptical because of what Jesus said and the way our calandar and daylight savings had to change.

In response to the end of the world, which is said to come in 4 years on Dec 21, 2012, you should take a look at what I have found on the web. Take into consideration the presidential champagne at hand. Who thinks he can fix everything by pulling our soldiers out of war to make peace with the middle east and believes its time for a CHANGE?!!! He thinks he can just fix the economy for us if he is elected. People who talk about a shift in the magnetic poles don’t know what they are talking about. The location of the magnetic poles is constantly shifting – always has and always will. The mgnetic north pole is not located at the geograhic north pole right now. The shift in magnetic poles has occured numerous times in the geological past and related to movements of the largely iron fluid like core of the planet. They are normal, and apart from increased cosmic rays reaching the surface, thus perhaps increasing mutation rates – and maybe accelerating evolutionary changes – they are nothing particularly earth shattering. The shift takes place over hundreds or thousands of years and is accompanied with a period of time when there are no magnetic poles.
The pole shift discussed by those who understand the Einstein theory is actually not a change in the rotation of the earth – such a change would require enormous change in inertia and would probably cause the break up of the planet. What Einstein foresaw was a slippage of the outside crust of the earth, which is very thin when compared to the diameter of the earth (about 30 miles) so that although the rotation of the planet continues in the same plan as always, the location of the ‘skin’ on the planet shifts – think of the skin on an orange being entirely disconnected from the sections inside – and then shifting so that a location on the skin that was on the pole shifts to now be adjacent to the ‘equator’ of the spinning orange. This would easily explain why areas once covered with ice are no longer so covered, and why tropical plants were reported to be found in the stomacks of mastidons frozen in Siberian ice. At the time of the slippage, animals living in a sub-tropical location when they ate the plants were frozen because that portion of the skin shifted from a location closer to the equator to one near the North pole.
For this to occur, the time span would be short and would clearly be accompanied by massive tidal waves, earthquakes etc etc. What all these theories fail to explain is why the forces, which would build up gradually over millenium, would be released on a specific date. I understand the theory of the alignment of the galactic centre with the earth – sun alignment, but the forces on that day would be only slightly greater than the day before and the day before etc. The co-efficient of friction between the skin and the underlying mantel will ‘let go’ when the force exceeds the resistance – but it would be a remarkable coincidence indeed if that were to be precisely on the day the force happens to be the greatest – but only by a small amount. Also, the force would not be the same each time it happened because the specific land masses on the pole or the equator would create greater or lesser centrifugal force and therefore the day on the cycle on which it occured would be different every time it occured.
Einstein may or may not be right – but those who suggest that you can adopt his theory and then predict with exactitude the day this will occur don’t understand the fundamentals of physics.

I dont presume to know the answer but I have thought about how I feel as I have read the answers. I can see how on that day there will be a great deal of stress on the earth’s crust. No man knows the day or hour the Lord will return. Since the day is listed as Dec. 21 we can conclude that this is not the return of Christ. However it may be that science is correct in that the earth will experience a catastrophic change. Weather, earthquakes, volcanoes etc. It is a sign that his coming is near. People will be in such a panic that they will eagerly look to the antichrist to save them. And he will show them great wonders and they will believe he is GOD. Those who believe that 2012 will be the end of the world do not get that from the Bible. First the Bible tells us this is a world without end. Second Jesus returns after the the seven year period in which the anti-christ shall rule. This is now 2009 in 3 yrs. it will be 2012. We have yet to see Isreal enter into a peace agreement with the anti-christ. So therefore the timing isn’t there. I think maybe the mayans were foretold of the catastrophic events that will occur in 2012. But to think they were given an exact date which I stated can’t be 2012 is against Bible teaching.

The movie, author, producer, all need new idea to make money from us, like new books or movie just want to boost new blockbuster record and generate more income. Maybe they need you all spend more money before the end of day so that other people will get more money from your pocket.

I think we should all take this as a potential fact and prepare for it and hope it doesn’t happen. I, for one, would rather be safe instead of sorry. It is just like believing in God. Our creator has given all of us a chance to use our time here in a way which may be a positive or a negative….but in any case we have been given the chance to choose how we want to live this life.
If in fact 2012 does mean a great shift on this planet, it doesn’t have to mean gloom and doom. Perhaps we are being given a chance to live the spiritual life on earth that we will encounter once we are out of these bodies.
There is so much more to the collective human conscienceness that we can ever imagine.
Each and every person on this planet (never mind their race or religion) are connected. We are all made of the same stuff. We bleed when we are punctured, our hearts hurt when something happens to those we love and we all have this amazing ability to create a world of pure love.
Everything we do has an effect on everyone and everything around us. We must learn to appreciate those around us, try to understand that which is different than what we believe and send out as much Love and compassion into the world that we can. Only once we make peace with ourselves can we exist in a world the way our creator meant for us to live in.
We can literally have heaven on earth. Now is the time to stop thinking about only “me” and start thinking about “We” collectively as a world of people who are no different than we are.
Learn to forgive.
2012 is time and a chance for us to start anew. To live the most amazing life we could ever imagine.
It first must begin with each person and it must start now.
Strive to be the most beautiful, loving, amazing person you can be.

hey everybody! the world has to end sometime.however, we do not know the day the time, nor the hour. so what about 12.21.12?personally im going to raise my kids and live my life to the best of my ability.
