Friday was release day for release of the movie “The Day The Earth Stood Still”. It was a movie, it was a slow movie, and it was a fantsy-like movie. That said, the MESSAGE was more than meaningful and pertinent to us today. Maybe even prophetic about the next four years and a few days. Can you say December 21, 2012? If you can’t don’t worry, over the next four years there will be many “2012 Movies”.
The core message of the movie is that aliens have come here to destroy the earth. What’s new!
But they are not destroying the physical earth, but the PEOPLE who are destroying it. In order to save the planet, which they see as one of the few capable of sustaining life, they’ll need to kill the people and let a new civilization start over that will preserve the earth because if left alone, we will kill the earth and ourselves of course.
This is a re-make of a 1951 movie, but one that’s even more plausible 57 years later. The Day The Earth Stood Still is a classic because of its message. Derrickson’s version of The Day The Earth Stood Still could have been a marvelous way of touching modern audiences with an old truth. Instead, it focuses more on thrills and special effects. Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly are not going to get any academy award nominations, but the message should.
Our earth is going through some major changes.
The heart beat of the earth is increasing as it senses danger. Like a human our heartbeat speeds up when we’re in danger. The vibratory resonance of the earth has jumped from 7.4 to 12.1 The Gaia hypothesis is an ecological hypothesis proposing that the biosphere and the physical components of the Earth (atmosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere) are closely integrated to form a complex interacting system that maintains the climatic and biogeochemical conditions on Earth in a preferred homeostasis. In other words, this planet that we’re speeding through the galaxy and universe on LIVES!
And from my perspective Al Gore’s global warming has little or nothing to do with it. There are bigger issues.
Are we interested in saving the planet?
