From my non-Catholic background, Benedict seems far more conservative and fundamentalist than Pope Paul. And if St. Malachy is right, there will be another Pope installed within the next four and a half years or so. And how does Malachy know this? More importantly who is this Saint anyway?
St Malachy (1094 - 1148) was the Archbishop of Armagh, to whom were attributed several miracles and a vision of the identity of the last 112 Popes. He was Canonized by Pope Clement III, on July 6, 1199, the first Irish Saint to be Canonized. Let’s hear it for the IRISH!
St. Bernard of Clairvaux describes him as having noble birth. Hey, we’re all of NOBLE birth! But, the influence of St Malachy in Irish ecclesiastical affairs has been compared with that of Boniface in Germany. He reformed and reorganized the Irish Church and brought it into subjection to Rome; like Boniface, he was a zealous reformer and a promoter of monasticism.
Back to the vision (nearly 1,000 years ago).
Malachy was shown a vision of the last 112 Popes and he wrote a brief word or two for each one- except for the 112th Pope. For those not familiar with Catholic traditions, Pope Benedict is the 111th Pope. The 112th Pope will see “Many tribulations and the City of Seven Hills (Rome) will be destroyed, and the terrible or fearsome Judge will judge his people. The end.” Think prayer will help?
Nostradamus had written a similiar account as well. What didn’t Nostradamus write about? You know, sometimes ignorance is bliss. Sometimes, not all times.
Malachy gave this 1112th Pope the name “Peter The Roman”. Joseph Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict XVI is the 267th Pope but the 111th since Malachy started reeling them off. Of course now, Pope Benedict could live 10-20 more years and the 112th Pope could oversee his Kingdom for 10-20 more years. So, the END as Malachy put it, may nnot be until somewhere around 2050 or so. But then again, maybe it is 12.21.2012.
But, if Pope Benedict dies between now and 2012, WATCH OUT!

I have been waiting patiently to see the 112th pope reign. I’m a true believer in God and nothing will change that. I definitely fear for the unbelievers. I can’t wait to see what unfolds for the next 40 years, give or take a couple. We may be the last generation to see the second coming…who knows. I just know Judgment Day is coming, That’s a fact…God bless to everyone…
Are you people of drugs? Oh your Catholics that explains everything!!! You are not God’s chosen and You are not the “one true Church”. The way the priests, bishops, and the Vatican have been acting the last few years and decades with the child abuse issue I would suggest the the Vatican is the gates of hell that shall not prevail against the whole Christian community i.e. the church universal in the purest sense. yet then again I tend to believe God is very merciful and loving and that many will be saved-including none Christians and none believers. Catholics please go back to your medieval caves. Thank you!
Hi there,
It gets even better.
St malachy of Armagh actually only prophecied 111 remaining Popes.
The 112th was added in 1559 by the Olivetan monks.
Pope Benedict is the 111th and FINAL POPE !!!
Hi,
I’ve read an very interesting article from seventh day adventists about a year ago, and it’s still online. It is a very interesting interpretation of the revelation, and they too claim that benedict will be the last pope, but only from facts that are stated in the book of revelation. Unfortunately some of the article is bloated with seventh day adventists teachings, which I do not believe to be biblical, but the article is definitely worth reading.
It’s on http://www.worldslastchance.com
Looks like benedict will die in 2012, but we will see.
Jesus Christ has raised me from the dead!
I am in the process of attempting to respond to the first 1000 results in a google search for ‘Peter the Roman’, the final pontiff in the St. Malachy prophecies. Total results are over 3 million. Yet, the prophecy given in 1139 A.D. was in virtual obscurity for over 400 years until the invention of the printing press. In the computer age there has been a resurgence in the interest of the list of names.
As Jesus Christ spoke of not rejoicing over our ability to pray that our joy may be full, but that our names are written in heaven, and the fact that Jesus Christ has raised me from the dead to the office of ‘Peter the
Roman’, I hold that the list of names in the St. Malachy prophecies are akin to, if not exactly, those very names written in heaven.
Even Nostradamus spoke of ‘Peter the Roman’ in Century VII, #24.
The use of ‘the strong one’ in the quatrain refers to Daniel 7:7.
Jesus Christ’s resurrecting me is in His fulfillment of an agreement of contract law into which both He and I entered prior to my baptising Him.
I am pleased to meet you.
I normally use my surname, but I remain:
the resurrected John,
Prophet of the Most High,
whom Jesus Christ called the “Elias who was to come.”,
St. John the Baptist,
enjoying the rapture in the call of duty as Peter the Roman
