What did Barack Obama mean when he made that statement one of his political speeches last year? What did President Bush #41 mean by it when he said it in his inaugural speech? More importantly, what did June Jordan mean by it when she used it originally as her closing line in a poem entitled, “Poem for South African Women”? More importantly why am I using it here and now?
June Jordan (1936-2002) was an Jamaican American political activist, poet, teacher, and author of some 28 books. She like Bush and Obama I believe sensed “something” when they used the line. There is in each of us, most often at an earlier age, a sense of destiny. Many come into the world with a feeling that great things are ahead for us.
And then life happens and the light grows dim.
I believe that we are coming into BEING the ones we and the earth-creation have long been waiting for. Mother earth gorans, Romans 8 records, for the coming of the sons of God, the luminous ones, the enlightened. Whateve term or label you want to put on that which is evolving, make sure you know things ae about to change- for the better.
The Hopi, Mayans, Laika, and other more ancient civilizations saw into the future, maybe even traveled there in the spirit, and saw what had to be. Who knows why, who knows how the date 2012 was chosen. Only a few see and sense the enormity of what’s about to take place. So the theories abound from a visitation by a mysterious planet (Niburu) to a galactic crossing that will cause super volcanic activity, ad infinitum. Opinions run the spectrum from scientifically plausible to wildly insane. What can’t be shoved aside though is the sense that “something” is on the horizon. Something big is coming.
Humanity is on a downward spiral with no solutions to stop the insanity of war, nuclear expansion (can you say Iran?), resource depletion, and religious incompatibility. Unless “something” happens we will continue to destroy our home, our habitation, the earth. And, we will destroy ourselves. But, the leaven is in the hood! The small cloud can be seen on the horizon and rain is on the way.
Will it happen exactly on the day December 21, 2012? Who knows?
The real questions is, are you ONE of those who are the “ones we have been waiting for”?
