The Hopi Indians speak of a coming time called the “Great Purification”. Looking at this potential event from the most elementary level, one must deal with the word CHANGE! Does Barack Obama have some spiritual insight that we’ve not seen? And then there’s this biggie- is this about the year 2012 and more specifically the Mayan calendar end date of December 21, 2012? What’s going on with the world’s economy? Does anyone know what time it is (Chicago)?

Is your life changing and if so how’s that working out for you Phil?

When a person starts to make changes in their life a high risk of self-sabotage begins to awaken and become operational. Not only does each individual struggle with themselves, they are likely to receive resistance from family and friends. Maybe the word is “likely” but definitely. I have far fewer friends than I used to even though my self assessment and that from those that remain objective friends say I’m a much better person.

So, what’s up with that? :-(

We as humans tend to like predictability and routine of ourselves, as well as those around us. When change occurs in our lives, (good or bad), we put on the brakes and say “hold on, this doesn’t seem right”. It is during this time, we will need to break it down into smaller pieces. Move slow, but always forward. Complacence is regression. As we become more familiar with our new environment (and self), we will be able to move into change more easily. Those who cannot or will not make the changes needed, will be likely to experience shock and trauma. A typical profile of a person most likely to do poorly with change would be those who try and control their environment.

Can you say control freaks?

Our government and elected politicians feel this NEED to CONTROL- everything. We must save this business and that business. Things must remain the same. As the Oracle said in Matrix II, the only thing that people in power want is MORE POWER. Religion is even worse with change. Those who appear to do best with change, are often those with some form of spiritual orientation. Able to be strong, but flow with change. Their external reality is less directing then their internal vision. This profile lives closer to the code of “we are all just kind of guessing”. This person is more likely to encourage people to “follow your own truth, not mine”. Often one’s truth coincides with the other.

There are undeniable changes ahead! Bank it! We will need to rely more on our intuition and our communities. There are many spiritual disciplines who say we are in times of enlightenment. I sense that we are at least headed there. Maybe the Hopi have it right. Maybe it is teh Great Purification. But then maybe it’s just the end of the world- as we know it. In either case one needs to begin to LET GO of what you think you KNOW!
